Introduction

KDU-UK is a non-profit organisation registered with the UK Charity Commission. We are committed to maintaining high standards of governance, accountability, and transparency in all our activities. Our governance framework ensures that we operate ethically, comply with legal requirements, and deliver our charitable objectives effectively.

Legal Structure

KDU-UK operates in accordance with UK charity law and regulations set by the Charity Commission. Our trustees are responsible for ensuring that the organisation meets its legal obligations and acts in the best interests of its beneficiaries.

Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees provides strategic leadership and oversight. Trustees are responsible for:

– Setting the organisation’s vision and direction

– Ensuring financial sustainability and accountability

– Monitoring performance and impact

– Ensuring compliance with charity law and governance standards

Trustees act voluntarily and bring a diverse range of skills and experience to support the organisation’s mission.

Leadership and Management

Day-to-day operations are managed by the leadership team, who implement the strategic direction set by the Board. They are responsible for programme delivery, partnerships, and operational management.


Accountability and Transparency

KDU-UK is committed to openness and transparency. We:

– Maintain accurate financial records

– Publish annual reports and accounts where required

– Ensure proper use of funds in line with our charitable objectives

Financial Oversight

The Board of Trustees oversees all financial matters, ensuring that funds are managed responsibly and efficiently. This includes budgeting, financial planning, and regular financial reporting.

Risk Management

We actively identify, assess, and manage risks that may affect our activities. Appropriate systems and controls are in place to minimise risks and safeguard our beneficiaries, staff, and volunteers.
